Dear youth and parents,
Summer events officially begin this week as our middle school youth depart for the Chi Rho Mission Trip to Houston on Sunday afternoon and our 10th-12th graders travel to Disciples Crossing on Monday for CYF Conference. Alison, the Amandas, and I will all be on the Chi Rho trip through Wednesday, while Jessica will be counseling at CYF Conference through Saturday. We'll look forward to telling stories about our experiences when we return, and encourage you to hold all the youth and adults involved in those events in prayer this week.

DPF Peace Intern leads youth Sunday school this week

DPF interns always do an amazing job of helping youth understand complex issues and empowering them to make a difference in the world. I hope that you'll plan to attend and give Margie a warm welcome as she begins her week in Texas.

Chi Rho Mission Trip departs this Sunday afternoon

Buy mission trip stock and support youth work projects
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~
This Sunday morning our congregation has an opportunity to buy stock in our youth mission trips at the table located in the Gallery. At $10 per share, the stock will fund work projects in Memphis and earns an invitation to a "shareholders luncheon" at the end of the summer to hear about the trips. If you or your child can't make the trip, this is a great way to support youth missions and get an exclusive report about the trips afterward. Just stop by the table in the Gallery on Sunday morning after either worship service or Sunday school.

Eat at Cafe Bella on Monday and support the Nicaragua trip
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~ Eat at Cafe Bella (3548 South Hills Ave) for lunch or dinner this Monday, June 10 to support UCC's mission pilgrimage to Nicaragua later this summer. Let your server know you are there for the UCC fundraiser, and Cafe Bella will donate 10% of your bill to support the mission pilgrimage. What a delicious way to support our missionaries!

UCC Youth summer fellowship events - join the fun!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~ UCC's youth ministry is sponsoring a number of fun fellowship events this summer, so be sure to mark your calendars. Here's what's coming up:
Chi Rho (completed grades 6-8)
July 10: Outing to Main Event - 1 p.m.
July 30: Texas Rangers ballgame - 5:30 p.m.
August 2: Outing to Burger's Lake - 1 p.m.
CYF (completed grades 9-12)
June 28: Outing to play Whirlyball - 1 p.m.
July 11: Outing to Coyote Drive-In - 8 p.m.
July 30: Texas Rangers ballgame - 5:30 p.m.

Space still available on CYF Mission Trip to Memphis
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~ Have you signed up for our high school mission trip? It's not too late! Here are the details:
The CYF Mission Trip to Memphis for grades 9-12 will take place June 30 - July 6. The group will be working at several inner city agencies, touring Rhodes College, and visiting several cultural attractions in the area (including the National Civil Rights Museum at the former Lorraine Motel). Cost is $350 per person and full or half scholarships are available upon request. Full details are available on the registration flyer.
If you're ready to sign up, simply turn in your registration flyer and $50 deposit to Sharyn Peterson in the youth office and we'll see you in the trip!
