---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear youth and parents,
Our summer youth ministry interns hit the ground running this week, and have already done a phenomenal job of cleaning out and organizing our supply closet and are starting on curriculum and worship plans for the Chi Rho Mission Trip. (I wish we had thought to take "before and after" pictures of the supply closet - it's quite remarkable.) They also had the opportunity to attend the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition thanks to the Parker family, so they have a good start on experiencing the rich culture we enjoy here in Fort Worth. They will be introduced at the conclusion of our worship services on Sunday, so be sure to introduce yourself and say hello!
Read on for information about the Men's Ministry's seafood boil, CYF mission trip registration, volunteering for Vacation Bible School, and more!
Grace and Peace, Russ

Say hello to our new Summer Youth Ministry Interns ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~
This summer our youth ministry again welcomes two full-time interns who will be learning about ministry here at UCC. After advertising the positions nationally and accepting applications, an interview committee comprised of youth and parents assisted the staff in selecting our interns:
Amanda DeWitt (right) just completed her second year at Bluegrass Community and Technical College in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. In the fall she will transfer to Eastern Kentucky University in Georgetown where she plans to major in Sociology and minor in Religion. She is a native of Lawrenceburg. She can be reached via e-mail at amanda.dewitt@uccftw.com.
Amanda Tatlock (left) just completed her sophomore year at Chapman University in Orange, California where she is majoring in Health Science with a minor in History. She is a native of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She can be reached via e-mail at amanda.tatlock@uccftw.com.
Amanda and Amanda started their internships this past Tuesday and will wrap up on August 5. They will spend part of their time here providing leadership in the youth ministry in Sunday school, at youth events, on mission trips, at camps, and around the office. The rest of their time will be devoted to exploring their own calls to ministry by shadowing and learning from other ministers at UCC and in the Fort Worth area. Both interns will be keeping a journal that chronicles their experiences, and at the end of the summer each one will write a reflection paper that synthesizes what they will take away from the experience. Please give Amanda and Amanda a warm welcome as they join our staff for the summer!
