---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear youth and parents,
It's been a busy week in the office as we make final preparations for summer. Jessica is away on a much-deserved post graduation vacation, and Alison and I have been working with the staff to move furniture around as we make some office changes. Jessica is moving into Rebecca Terry's old office, Alison is taking over Jessica's former workspace, and our summer interns are moving into workspaces in Alison's office. This week's main lesson: Old desks are very heavy.
Speaking of our summer interns, we're excited to welcome them to town this weekend. Their first day on the job will be Tuesday, and they will be introduced to the congregation at the conclusion of all three worship services on June 2. Watch for their contact information in next week's e-news so that you can send them a note to welcome them to UCC.
Read on for information about our summer interns, mission trip registration, volunteering for Vacation Bible School, and more!
Grace and Peace, Russ

Summer Youth Ministry Interns arrive next week ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~
This summer our youth ministry again welcomes two full-time interns who will be learning about ministry here at UCC. After advertising the positions nationally and accepting applications, an interview committee comprised of youth and parents assisted the staff in selecting our interns:
Amanda DeWitt (right) just completed her second year at Bluegrass Community and Technical College in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. In the fall she will transfer to Eastern Kentucky University in Georgetown where she plans to major in Sociology and minor in Religion. She is a native of Lawrenceburg.
Amanda Tatlock (left) just completed her sophomore year at Chapman University in Orange, California where she is majoring in Health Science with a minor in History. She is a native of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Amanda and Amanda start their internships on Tuesday and will wrap up on August 5. They will spend part of their time here providing leadership in the youth ministry in Sunday school, at youth events, on mission trips, at camps, and around the office. The rest of their time will be devoted to exploring their own calls to ministry by shadowing and learning from other ministers at UCC and in the Fort Worth area. Both interns will be keeping a journal that chronicles their experiences, and at the end of the summer each one will write a reflection paper that synthesizes what they will take away from the experience. Please give Amanda and Amanda a warm welcome as they join our staff for the summer!
