---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear youth and parents,
It was wonderful to see so many of you at Jessica Vacketta's ordination service on Sunday afternoon. The service was a joyous, meaningful, and tear-filled recognition of Jessica's gifts, calling, and commitment to her vocation as a minister. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the handmade white and gold stole she received from the youth and parents of UCC - she loved it and looks forward to wearing it for many years to come. If you weren't able to make the service, be sure to congratulate JV on her graduation from Brite and ordination to ministry the next time you see her. I should have some photos from the service to share in next week's e-news.

Youth end-of-the-year parties this Sunday evening ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The end of the school year is upon us, and our middle and high school youth will celebrate with end-of-the-year parties this Sunday, May 19 from 6-8 p.m. Here are the details on the parties:
CYF pool party (grades 9-12) will be hosted by the Ruiz family at their home (2528 Greene Ave.) Bring $5 to help cover dinner, and wear or bring your swimsuit and a towel if you plan to swim. Jessica promises there will be Settlers of Catan for interested gamers.
Chi Rho water games party (grades 6-8) will take place in the grassy yard adjacent to the church. Wear a swimsuit under a t-shirt and shorts, bring sandals or water shoes to wear, and bring $5 to help cover dinner. It will be a fun night filled with zany outdoor water games, so come cool off at church!
