The past two youth garage sales have raised a combined $20,000 in scholarship money to help send kids to camps, retreats, and mission trips. This year's garage sale starts today, and we still need a LOT of volunteers to make it happen. Even if you can only spare an hour to stop by Fellowship Hall, that one hour makes a big difference. Can you spare an hour or two to help send more kids to life-changing camps and mission trips?
Below is a list of shifts and specific needs. Take a look, pick a place you can help, and (if you're willing to take one extra step) e-mail the volunteer coordinator, Robin Nelson, at
robin.nelson69@yahoo.com so she can add you to the schedule and balance out the shifts. There are jobs set aside specifically for YOUTH volunteers at the preview sale on Friday (10 youth needed) and the main sale on Saturday (20 youth needed).
Friday, April 12 (pricing items, final prep, Preview Sale)
1-3 p.m.
3-5 p.m. (Preview Sale begins at 4 p.m.)
5-7 p.m. (Preview Sale ends at 7 p.m.)
Saturday, April 13 (Sale Day: need cashiers, security, and general helpers)
7-10 a.m.
10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
12 p.m. - 3 p.m.
3 p.m. - Finish (clean-up shift)
One final note: Youth who work the sale will earn individual credit for camps and trips for every hour they work (up to 20 hours, estimated at $10-$20 per hour) similar to TCU football parking. So parents, be sure to bring your kids along to help out and earn some family credit for future use! (Also, Robin will be bringing a batch of homemade cookies for the youth as an additional "thank you" on Sunday - so look forward to that!)
