---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear youth and parents,
I'm getting ready for a great weekend with our middle school youth at the Chi Rho Fall Retreat, held annually at Disciples Crossing, our church camp in Athens. This year 21 youth from our church will be attending along with 4 adult sponsors, and I'm looking forward to a fun and meaningful weekend away on holy ground with youth and adults from other Disciples churches in the area.
Don't forget that this Sunday evening will be our farewell celebration for Herb Murray! Herb has had a major impact on our Chi Rho ministry during his time at UCC, and I hope you'll be able to join me in thanking him for sharing his gifts with us. Details on the event are below, along with info about the CYF haunted house outing, registration for this year's Disciples Class, and more!
Grace and Peace, Russ

CYF haunted house outing this Saturday night
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~
From Jessica Vacketta, Assistant Minister for High School: Our high school youth have been asking for a haunted house outing, and we're making it happen! This Saturday, November 3, youth in grades 9-12 are invited to dinner at Dutch's followed by haunted house fun at Hangman's. We'll meet at 6:30 p.m. at UCC to head to Dutch's for dinner and then drive to Hangman's around 8 p.m. Our estimated return time to the church is between 9:30 and 10 p.m. The church will cover half of the ticket, so each youth will only need to bring $10 for Hangman's and money for dinner. We need to ensure we have enough seats available in our carpool, so contact me at jessica@uccftw.com today if you plan to go! *Parents: Please let me know if you can volunteer as a driver or chaperone. |
RSVP now for Herb's Sunday night farewell celebration
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~ This Sunday evening, November 4, we will gather to celebrate the ministry that Herb Murray has shared with us as UCC's Assistant Minister for Middle School over the last 2+ years. I hope that you can be present for this celebration in Room 207 starting at 6:15 p.m. We will serve a light supper (donations appreciated) and take time to let Herb know how much his ministry has impacted our youth and families. If you plan to attend, please take a moment to RSVP so that we have enough food and seating. Click here for the RSVP form and additional information about the event.
Note: Herb's party will take the place of our typical Sunday night snack supper and youth group meetings. We'll return to our normal schedule on November 11. |
Disciples Class registration deadline approaching
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~ Youth in grades 6-12 interested in learning more about baptism/confirmation and church membership are encouraged to participate in this year's Disciples Class. The 12-week course provides a helpful introduction to what it means to confess your faith, join the church, be baptized or confirmed, take communion, share your gifts, and more! This year's class will take place on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. beginning with an orientation on December 2. Click here for more information on the class, or click here to register online. The registration deadline for this year's class is Sunday, November 11.
