Policy Tour: Tour of Puget Sound Energy's Snoqualmie Falls Hydroelectric Project

Our Snoqualmie Falls policy tour is the perfect way to see a famous local attraction and learn about hydropower at the same time! Built in the late 1890s and about 30 miles east of Seattle, the Hydroelectric Project is one of the Pacific Northwest's oldest hydropower facilities and home to the world's first hydroelectric plant built completely underground. The operational facility still produces clean, renewable electricity for PSE customers while remaining a top tourist destination in the region. Enjoy a trip down the newly renovated Boardwalk to view amazing views of the famous 270 foot waterfall before venturing to a closed-to-the public museum showcasing the incredible engineering feat of the the Hydroelectric Project. Attendees will enjoy a light reception at the historic Salish Lodge before traveling back to Seattle. Space is limited; register onlineWe are grateful to Puget Sound Energy for hosting the policy tour.

STEP #4
Pack appropriately

Seattle in November is all about rain! Be sure to pack an umbrella and warm clothes. On Friday morning, we will enjoy a harbor tour of Elliot Bay. Though there is a small indoor area of the boat, expect to spend some time in the rain. Waterproof jackets and shoes will come in very handy!

On Saturday, the Snoqualmie Falls policy tour will also require warm clothes.

The bottom line is: prepare for rain!

STEP #5
Make reservations

Dinner on Friday is up to you! For most downtown restaurants, reservations are recommended. There are plenty of excellent restaurants and other sights to explore during your free evening. Need ideas? Visit our website.

(Pike Place Market, right, is a local attraction famous for its fresh seafood. It is also home to several great restaurants, including the Pink Door, Steelhead Diner, and Maximilen Restaurant).
