An overview of port access and intermodal capacity for the Pacific Northwest Gateway

This event is hosted by The Seattle Mariners in partnership with the Manufacturing Industrial Council (MIC), Washington Legislative Rail Caucus, Maritime and Resiliency Caucus, Pacific Northwest Economic Region (PNWER) and Cascadia Academy.
The session will tentatively include the following topics: SODO manufacturing and industrial base, including gentrification challenges; federal freight picture and funding proposals; Washington Rail Caucus 2015 agenda; Seaport Alliance; Green Gateway: retrofitting drayage trucks to reduce diesel emissions; freight and passenger rail access: keeping trains, trucks and people safe; and a case study: re-energizing the Lander Street overpass.

The Consulate General of Canada in Seattle cordially invites you to attend an informative seminar on Public Private Partnerships (P3s).

The seminar, being held in conjunction with the PNWER Economic Leadership Summit, will provide a contextual framework for the successful development and implementation of P3 projects. Topics to be covered include the history of P3s, project financing, and presenting models that have been successful in Canada. Attendees will hear from provincial, state, and municipal governments as well as private sector companies involved in P3 projects in Canada and the U.S.

Our Economic Leadership Forum will take place Nov. 19 - 22 in Seattle, Wash. This meeting provides an opportunity for local, state, and provincial leaders in both the public and private sectors to carry out in-depth, focused discussions on key subjects effecting our regional economy. Leaders from throughout the U.S. states of Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana, and the Canadian provinces/territories of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Yukon and Northwest Territories will be in attendance tackling the policy matters that drive the economic strength of the region. PNWER will host the Winter Meeting in conjunction with two other conferences, including the Converge@Seattle Innovation Summit and an Invasive Species Workshop. Several of our working groups will also meet, including Ocean & Energy, Transportation & Market Access, Workforce, and Energy & Environment. A special session, Disaster Resilience for Legislators, will also be held during the Winter Meeting.
NOTE: A special Arctic Session is also being planned to discuss regional Arctic priorities.
