Alaska Gov. Sean Parnell
 

 

We hope you enjoyed our first day in the beautiful Dena'ina Convention Center in the heart of downtown Anchorage! Today, we heard from Alaska's Governor Sean Parnell, and got a taste of Alaskan heritage with the fur and native fashion show.

Yesterday, we congratulated Hon. Rob Merrifield, on winning PNWER's Hot Potato Award for deescalating tensions between the U.S. and Canada.   

 

Today, on Wednesday, July 17, we have an exciting day lined up for you in our second day at the Dena'ina. 


Hear a crucial invasive species perspective at our keynote breakfast hosted by HDR and presented by the Invasive Species Working Group. This event will feature  Dr. David Lodge, University of Notre Dame." His presentation is: "Budget-busting Invasive Species from Kudzu to Quagga to Apple Maggot to Carp."

 

Later in the day, we'll hear from Consul General Denis Stevens,
Consul General of Canada in Seattle and Consul General  
Anne CallaghanU.S. Consul General in Vancouver. This will be moderated by Chris Sands,Senior Fellow, Hudson Institute, and is hosted by Nelson Mullins. 
 
In addition to our engaging Market Access session yesterday, today we will have three new sessions as well. They include Coastal & Ocean Caucus in the afternoon, as well as two innovative sessions that have been planned with leadership and input from PNWER's Border, Transportation and Tourism Working Groups: "The Inside Passage" (morning) and "Aboriginal Tourism and Crossing Borders" (afternoon). 
 
The exciting agenda for the day continues with a reception hosted by Enbridge at the Alaska Native Heritage Center where Anchorage Mayor Dan Sullivan will speak. Please be ready to depart the Marriott Hotel by 6:30 p.m. Bus will leave promptly. 
 
Afterward, our hospitality suite hosted by APEG, APEGS and APEGBC will be held at 9 p.m. in the Marriott Ballroom.
