2014 Relay for Life


Pine Tree ISD hosted the 2014 Relay for Life Event on April 25 at Pirate Stadium.  Pine Tree raised over $10,000 for the American Cancer Society and was recognized with the following awards:

PT Primary - Rising Star Status

PT Intermediate:  Rookie of the Year, Top Online Fundraiser, Bronze Level Status

PT Middle:  Rising Star Status

PT Junior High:  Rising Star Status

PT Central Office:  Rising Star Status, Spirit of  Relay and Most Creative Fundraiser "Life Sized Angry Birds"

 The History of Pine Tree Schools and Points Beyond: 1847-Modern Day


 
The History of Pine Tree Schools and Points Beyond: 1847-Modern Day will be unveiled at a book signing June 7 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pine Tree Road Auditorium.

Dr. Taylor, a professor at Kilgore College and a 1973 Pine Tree graduate, is the author of The History of Pine Tree Schools and Points Beyond:  1847-Modern Day.  The riveting account contains over 87 photographs, 83,000 names and mentions over 2,600 names of students, parents, teachers, counselors, coaches and administrators.  The cost of the book is $48.50 and can be purchased the day of the event and online beginning June 9.

Pine Tree Middle School Awarded Beautification Grant

 

Keep Longview Beautiful awarded a $2,000 grant to Pine Tree Middle School for a beautification project entitled Save Our Soil (SOS).

 

The Save Our Soil project is an original student learning service project by 5th

grade gifted and talented students.  The overall project will include purchasing materials and supplies to landscape two areas located on the middle school campus.  

 

 Congratulations to PTMS!  Job well done!
