Fall Musical OPENS This Weekend
Pine Tree High School will present Dirty Rotten Scoundrel's this fall in its newly renovated theater. Tickets are $10 and are on sale now from any cast member. Tickets are available for purchase online as well.

PT Alumni Announce Awards and Celebrate Homecoming with Tailgate at New Stadium
Pine Tree Education Foundation and Band Kids Forever present the "Can't Stop Loving You" Alumni Tailgate Party. The festivities kick-off at 5:30pm at Pete's Plaza in the Pine Tree Pirate Stadium. Dr. Kevin Jackson Named Recipient of Distinguished Alumni Honor for Pine Tree ISD
James T. Ogg Receives 2013-14 PT Golden Anchor Faculty Award
The Pine Tree Education Foundation and Alumni Affairs has announced James T. Ogg as the recipient of the 2013-14 Golden Anchor Faculty Award for PTISD. James T. Ogg served Pine Tree ISD as the Superintendent of Schools from 1946-1958, and among other great commendable accomplishments, was responsible for guiding the Pine Tree schools toward becoming an independent school district in 1948. Chris Johnson Named 2013 PT Rising Star Award

Mr. Chris Johnson has been honored as the Pine Tree ISD 2013 Rising Star Award winner.
On Monday, September 9, 2013, the Pine Tree ISD Board of Trustees approved a $1.555 per $100 valuation tax rate, which is an increase from the previous year. Read more
STAAR Results Reveal Scores Above State and Regional Trends
Results from the 2012-2013 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) scores were released from the Texas Education Agency. This is the second year students in Pine Tree ISD grades three through eight were required to take the STAAR, and high school freshman and sophomores took STAAR's end-of-course (EOC) exams in multiple subject areas. Spangler Law Firm just delivered some sunshine into the choir room at Pine Tree High School this week. The bright new multi-colored rug donated by the law firm was a happy surprise to the choir students and their director, Melody McMullen.
According to HB 1501 that passed the Texas Legislature last session, Texas public schools - including Pine Tree ISD - have new requirements each September 11th. Students at every grade level will hear an age-appropriate statement about the events that occurred on September 11, 2001. All classes will also observe the state-mandated moment of silence.
