Research, Resources and Updates 
  • National LGBT Movement Report

    The National LGBT Movement Report, published annually by MAP, examines revenue and expenses, fundraising and fundraising efficiency, and other indicators of financial health for LGBT social justice advocacy, issue, legal, research and public education organizations.
  • Discrimination Against Transgender Women Seeking Access to Homeless Shelters

    The Center for American Progress and the Equal Rights Center, or ERC, recently conducted telephone tests on 100 homeless shelters across four states. The tests measured the degree to which transgender homeless women can access shelter in accordance with their gender identity, as well as the types of discrimination and mistreatment they face in the process.
Requests for Proposals
  • The Lesbian Health Fund (LHF), a program of GLMA, is currently accepting proposals for research on lesbian health. LHF grants range from $500 - $10,000. Many applications are for small projects structured to provide pilot data for subsequent research. The deadline to submit is February 1, 2016.  For more information about the 2015 grants and to apply, click here.
  • Trans Justice Funding Project (TJFP) is now accepting applications for its 2016 grants. Grants will be anywhere from $1,000-$5,000. The deadline to submit is February 15, 2016.  For more information about the 2016 grants and to apply, click here.
  • Point Foundation is a national LGBTQ non-profit organization designed to nurture the LGBTQ leaders of the next generation, with the generous support of others. Point empowers promising LGBTQ students to achieve their full academic and leadership potential-despite the obstacles often put before them-to make a significant impact on society. The deadline to submit Part I of the application is January 19, 2016.  For more information about the 2016 grants and to apply, click here.

  • Verizon Funds Youth Organizations

    Washington, D.C. announces two grants from Verizon totaling $45,000 to serve LGBTQ youth in the D.C. metro area. The two recipients are Wanda Alston House and Supporting and Mentoring Youth Advocates and Leaders.
