• "LGBT Women Report Lower Financial and Physical Well-Being"
  New Gallup study shows that LGBT Americans report lower well-being than non-LGBT Americans, and the disparity is more acute for LGBT women than for LGBT men. Analysis of the study can be read here.

• Advancing Trans* Movements Worldwide
  
  In 2013, Global Action for Trans* Equality, the Open Society Foundations, and Wellspring Advisors partnered to host a meeting in Berlin for funders and activists working on gender diversity. This report captures the discussions and outcomes.

• FCAA: Tracking the Human Rights Funding Response to HIV
  Sarah Hamilton from Funders Concerned About AIDS (FCAA) writes about the importance of tracking and data collection in developing responsive human rights funding strategies, including how Funders for LGBTQ Issues, FCAA and IHRFG are coordinating resource tracking efforts across the intersecting fields of human rights, LGBT rights, sexual and reproductive rights, and HIV/AIDS. • 19% of Foster Youth in L.A. Identify as LGBTQ
  A Williams Institute study found that "Approximately 1 in 5 foster youth in Los Angeles County, home to the nation's largest population of foster youth, identify as LGBTQ - twice the estimated percentage of LGBTQ youth not in foster care." Read more about their findings here.

• Digital Red Ribbon Launch: The First Domain Names with a Social Purpose
  dotHIV is a new Berlin-based initiative that provides web addresses ending in .hiv to companies and non-profits where each click gives a small donation to an HIV/AIDS project. Read more here.

• Surdna Foundation
  The Surdna Foundation has issued a request for proposals to individual artists, culture bearers and nonprofit arts organizations to support projects developed in response to communities' specific challenges and to support artists and organizations whose long-term, deeply-rooted work has increased social engagement without necessarily being explicitly "activist." The deadline is November 12.
