Funding in the US South
Where is LGBT funding in the South?
In 2011 we saw a record-breaking $123 million in grants awarded to LGBTQ issues. However, the U.S. South saw less than $4 million of that historic sum. In fact, the U.S. South barely saw 3% of the funding despite the fact that over a third of the U.S. population lives in the 13 states we have collectively defined as the South. ... The LGBT Southern Funding Project: First Summit
In partnership with several LGBT and Southern funders, on July 29th and July 30th, we will convene a summit of foundations and other donors. The purpose of this summit will be to assess assets, gaps, and opportunities for funding LGBTQ issues in the Southeast. ... Learn more here.

    The Matthew Shepard Foundation is accepting nominations for the "Spirit of Matthew Award" presented at their annual Bear to Make A Difference Gala.  Nominations are due August 30.

  • Elton John AIDS Foundation
    The Elton John AIDS Foundation has announced its May 2013 Grantees, which include: $300,000 for AIDS United; $250,000 for HaborPath Common HIV Patient Assistance Program Portal; $75,000 for SERO Project; $125,000 for the How to Survive a Plague Engagement Campaign; and $100,000 for the New York City AIDS Memorial.
