It has been a busy few weeks on campus. ACPHS welcomed our new and returning students during Move In Day and Orientation Week (August 27-31). Classes began on September 2 and the Fall Semester is off to a great start on both our NY and VT campuses.

Looking ahead, the College has a number of events planned that will bring the entire community together.

PSSNY Promotion September 2014
Attention New Practitioners

Do you want to be a part of PSSNY's Public Education Campaign?  

PSSNY is seeking volunteers to record a five minute video on frequently asked questions often asked of pharmacists. These videos will make up the Public Education Campaign in October 2014, which is National Ask Your Pharmacists month.

Health & Wellness Expo - Sept 27

ACPHS is excited to bring you the 3rd Annual Health and Wellness Expo on Saturday, September 27 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

This annual event kicks off at 9:00 a.m. with the Mario Zeolla '97 5K Run/Walk followed by Free Health Screenings, Blood Drive, Medication Take Back, Farmers' Market and more. We hope you will join us once again at this great community event  supporting the local community and their basic health care needs. Faculty News

Pharmacy Practice Chair Rob DiCenzo and Associate Professor Darius Mason have been elected to serve as officers in the APhA's Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Science. In March 2015, Dr. DiCenzo will be installed as President of the Academy, and Dr. Mason will become chair of the Clinical Sciences Section.


 

Vice Provost of Research Shaker Mousa and Associate Professor  Amy Barton Pai have been invited to speak at the 12th Annual Current Issues in Medicine, Biotech and Pharma Conference taking place September 17-18 at RPI.


 

Assistant Professor Allison Burton Chase of the Dept. of Basic and Social Sciences was one of the authors in a widely reported study on prostate cancer prevention led by the University of Texas' MD Anderson Cancer Center. The study results were published in the journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention.

Alumni & Friends Events with Syracuse University Football

On Saturday, September 27 you are invited to join fellow alumni and friends on a Yankee Trails Bus Trip to Met Life Stadium to see the Syracuse Orange take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the NY College Football Classic.

Can't make that trip but would like to see a college football game this year? We have just the ticket for you! ACPHS is hosting another event in Syracuse on Saturday, November 1 at the Syracuse vs. NC State Football Game.

Annual Alumni Soccer Game 
 
On Saturday, September 27 you are invited back to campus for some friendly competition on the soccer field for the annual Alumni Soccer Match. Alumni will take the field after the men's and women's teams play Berkeley College. It's also Coach Rich Komulainen's 30th Season as head men's soccer coach so we hope to see you back on campus to celebrate, show off your skills, and have a great time.

The  College is working with Yankee Trails World Travel and the Continuing Education Department to host an Alumni and Friends Cruise. We have received a package to consider for November 15-22, 2015 on the Norwegian Breakaway.
