Alumnus John McDonald elected to New York State Assembly
 
John McDonald, member of the ACPHS Class of 1985, has been elected to represent the 108th District in the New York State Assembly. McDonald, who is a practicing pharmacist at his family's Marra's Pharmacy, has served as mayor of the city of Cohoes, New York since 2000.

Career Fair Connects Students with Employment Opportunities


 
More than 25 employers, graduate schools, and residency/fellowship programs came together in the Albert M. White Gymnasium on November 7 for the ACPHS Career Fair. The annual event provides students with opportunities to network with future employers and learn about the variety of options available to them after graduation. On the day after the Fair, many students had formal interviews on campus with representatives of these organizations.

Men's Basketball Team Defeats St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 2 OT Thriller 
 
In a matchup of two of the country's oldest pharmacy programs, the men's basketball team defeated St. Louis College of Pharmacy 90-83 in double overtime this past Saturday winning the "Apothecary Cup." The Panthers' win, which avenged last year's defeat at STLCOP, means that Albany will be home to the rivalry's trophy for the next year. The women's teams will continue the series with alternating home games 2013 and 2014.
