This Sunday, our True Spirituality series continues with Romans 12:9-13. We all crave community. Scripture has a fantastic 8 sentences about how to obtain it. We serve in love. 
Fall Small Groups
 
Are you one of the more than 130 people currently in small groups at Deerbrook? This is a great way to get better connected, support each other in our journey, socialize, and learn. We encourage you to do the reading and participate with your small group.

The devotional and workbooks are available for $20.
Missionary Reception
Meet Covenant missionaries Julio & Katie Isaza and their two sons this weekend, Oct 16-18.

Friday, Oct 16, 7:00 - 8:15 pm
Welcome Reception for the Isaza family from Colombia, South America, at the Gilbert home, 245 NE Fiddlewood Avenue, Lee's Summit. Snacks & drinks, children are welcome. (The Royals will be on, if they are playing.)

Annual Fall Youth Retreat
The Annual Fall Youth Retreat will be Friday, November 20 at 4:00 p.m. to Sunday, November 22 at 9:00 a.m.  It will be held this year at the Youth Front Camp West Retreat in Edgerton, KS.  Cost: $55 before October 31; $65 November 1 or later.  Reservations should be made with Preston.
Deerbrook 101 Class

We will offer a Deerbrook 101 class on Sunday, Nov 8 from 11:45 am - 2:45 pm. Lunch will be provided. Sign-up is requested. 

This interactive session offers you a glimpse of the history and beliefs of our Covenant church, and serves as our membership class. 

Children's Ministry Hiring Team Update

  • Patricia announced that she will be with us through Nov 30th.
  • Debbie Dziurawiec is our Chairperson of the hiring team.
  • The Hiring Team will be announced on Sunday and will have their first meeting next week. 
  • Please keep the team in your prayers.
Wheels to Freedom
Remember to lift Randy and Laura Horn in prayer while they are in Romania delivering wheelchairs to those in need, through Hope Haven International Ministries.
Garden of Eatin' Work Day
Many thanks to Amy Keltner, Kit & Ed Schmidt, and Jim Baldwin who gave more than an hour of their time to help put some beds to rest for the season, harvest beets, and begin to mulch areas of the garden where weeds like to grow. I know there are others who come when they can come. It's much appreciated! We still have things to do, so help when you can.

2017 Church Camp
Registration for Church Camp, June 2017, continues. We need to register this far in advance in order to secure the rooms at the YMCA of the Rockies. However, if your plans change, you will get a refund of your deposit. See the information sheet for details.
