Sunday

We continue our study of the first letter of John as we look at 1 John 4:1-6.

This week we will discuss the significance of Jesus coming into the "world" and the ways people view the world.
Summit Fest - Baseball & Soccer for Kids

Saturday, August 8 from 9:00 to Noon at Legacy Park

Liven up the "dog days" of summer at SummitFest, a morning of sports clinics for boys and girls age 8-12 led by pros from soccer and baseball.

SummitFest is a community effort of six Lee's Summit churches.  Our goal is to benefit Lee's Summit Social Services (LSSS) and the kids of our city.

Registration fees pay for event t-shirts and expenses, with more than 50% going to LSSS. The sponsoring churches receive no funds.  In addition to soccer and baseball instruction, our pro coaches will share about the importance of spiritual and ethical values.

Mulan Jr
Reed Performing Arts is doing Disney's Mulan Jr. at Deerbrook Wednesday through Saturday, August 5 - 8 at 8:00 p.m.

Defying the village matchmaker, Mulan takes up arms and disguises as a boy in order to spare her father from having to serve in the army. The Huns have invaded, and it is up to the misfit Mulan and her mischievous sidekick Mushu to save the Emperor! Disney's Mulan JR. is a heartwarming celebration of culture, honor, and the fighting spirit. The show allows for a large ensemble of actors playing soldiers, family members, and brides-to-be.

Missionaries-in-Residence
We are thrilled to announce that David and DeAnna Anderson will serve as our Missionaries-in-Residence.

The Andersons recently returned from Cameroon and continue to serve with Wycliffe Bible Translators.

Over the next 10 months they will live in Pleasant Hill, MO, continue to add new financial and prayer supporters, and seek God's will for their next missionary assignment starting near July-August 2016.

During their stay here, David will join the staff on a part-time basis in the areas of Technology, Administration and Ministry development. DeAnna will continue as a gifted volunteer.  Please be in prayer for the Andersons and welcome them to our community!
