LA PORTE COUNTY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA ANNOUNCES
HOOSIER STAR OF STARS 10TH ANNIVERSARY COMPETITION
La Porte, IN, September 9, 2015 - La Porte County Symphony Orchestra celebrates the 10th Anniversary of Hoosier STAR to determine the STAR of the DECADE - Hoosier STAR of STARS! This enjoyable evening of entertainment will take place this Saturday, September 12, 7:00 p.m., at the La Porte Civic Auditorium. Hoosier STAR has evolved into one of La Porte County's premier events, where everyone in the audience has the opportunity to vote to determine the first and second place winners. 
This fundraising event has presented exceptional vocalists over the years from all over Indiana and SW Michigan. These talented singers were selected by audition to perform with the Hoosier STAR Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Philip J. Bauman.
The 10th year celebration will take the Adult 1st place winners from previous Hoosier STAR events and have them compete against each other for the title of "STAR OF STARS". Returning winners include: Betsy Archer (2011), Taylor Carter (2014), Nanda Danitschek (2010), Brian Phillips (2008), Jeremiah Souza (2013), and Brandon Williams (2007). These winners will perform throughout the evening with solos, duets and group numbers.
Several previous Hoosier STAR Youth participants will return to perform a group number of their own. The audience will also be treated to an exciting grand finale reunion of voices comprised of previous Hoosier STAR winners, Youth and Adult performers and LCSO's background singers, Illumination.
Ric Federighi, of WIMS 1420 AM will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening. Celebrity stage judges will provide comments after each contestant's performance.
