The 3 Other Tenors return!
November 15, 7:30 pm Concert La Porte Civic, 1001 Ridge St., La Porte, IN

The La Porte County Symphony Orchestra combines brilliant instrumental voices with dazzling singing for an evening that celebrates 20 years of Maestro Bauman as the music director!

The Fall kick-off concert for a season titled "Voices ReImagined" may raise the roof of the La Porte Civic Auditorium on November 15 beginning at 7:30 pm. This concert is typical of the type of stimulating and inspiring program that fans of Music Director Philip J. Bauman have come to enjoy. For this concert, the audience will experience a fusion of an accomplished Midwest orchestra, a classically trained trio from Chicago and a high school choir that will be joining us from a celebrated arts school in Gary.

The La Porte audience enjoyed the Other 3 Tenors at an opening night concert of our 2010 season. The LCSO is very pleased to be bringing them back to our stage this season in response to overwhelming popular demand. For the November 15 evening, the trio is planning a one-of-a-kind celebration of music from around the globe. Classics from Italy, Ireland, Korea, France, Austria and North America  will be featured on the eclectic program. Highlights will include "Mattinata", "La danza", "Danny Boy", "Dein ist mein ganzes Herz", "Song of the Boatman", "Gunfight at O.K. Corral", as well as such lighter fare as Frank Sinatra's showpiece, "My Way". Audience members will also be treated to such operatic arias as "Che gelida manina" from La Bohème, "The Toreador Song" from Carmen and, of course, the late Luciano Pavarotti's signature piece, "Nessun Dorma" from Turandot.

Also on the program will be the magnificent Wirt-Emerson Concert Choir from Gary, who will be joining the tenors for "Funiculì, funiculà" and the inspiring Broadway standard, "You'll Never Walk Alone".

News From LCSO Board of Directors

It is with regret that the LCSO Board of Directors announces the resignation of its Executive Director Lee Bauman. The Board congratulates Lee on her new ventures as the President of Leota Arts Management (representing opera singers, conductors and composers) and Lee Bauman Art (watercolor artist).

Lee's association with the Orchestra began a decade ago as an artistic consultant. She was later hired in the part time position of Operations and Personnel Manager. In 2008 she was selected to serve as the Executive Director.

Under Lee's leadership, initiatives and collaborations with social service and cultural arts organizations fostered long lasting and meaningful relationships throughout the region. Her significant contributions include Regional Arts Council, qualifying for additional funding from the Indiana Arts Council, securing the first National Endowment for the Arts grant for LCSO, creating a classical concert that promotes a healthy community with Indiana University La Porte Hospital and the Susan G. Komen Foundation, bringing The Nutcracker to La Porte with Indiana Ballet Theatre and the La Porte YMCA, co-chairing Hoosier Star for 5 years and founding the LCSO Children's Chorus.

Lee notes, "When each concert begins, I am in awe of the beautiful music that is produced by this group of musicians. Because of this music, for the past six years, I have truly loved my work. Now I am looking forward to using my artistry and talents to uplift and inspire others."
