At the 8th annual Hoosier STAR competition, you will enjoy the Hoosier STAR Orchestra conducted by Philip Bauman as they perform a wide range of music to accompany the soloists. To accentuate some of the pieces there are two back-up choruses, Illumination directed by Becky Osborn and a select group of singers from the LCSO Children's Chorus directed by Matt Nelson. Commenting on each of the finalists are three celebrity judges: Bunny Fisher - jazz performer, Warren Moulton - entertainer/tenor and the Honorable Blair Milo - Mayor of La Porte. Introducing the contestants for the evening is

Audience members can purchase and enjoy delicious refreshments from Ivy Tech Community College Culinary School, Spire Farm to Fork Cuisine, Little Chocolates, Arturo's Baked Goods and More or Della Nonna Cookies. A cash bar is furnished by Portofino's Restaurant.
The auditorium's balcony has a great view with live video projections on a large stage screen managed by Lakeshore Public Media technicians. General admission tickets will be available at the door: $15 Adult or $ 5 Child (12 and under) with the doors opening at 6:00 pm. Upon admission, each person who presenting an admission ticket will be given two ballots for voting purposes: one vote for the youth division and one vote for the adult division. A team from Schmitt and Kaylor CPAs will tabulate the ballots to determine the winners.
