A Blast of Virtuous Stuff.

Greetings!

Our last "V"mail and video was about R-E-S-P-E-C-T. If you missed it the first time around, HERE IT IS AGAIN >

I've been lucky and have worked with some very talented people during my career in the entertainment & advertising biz. These days, rather than create commercially driven movies, TV shows or ads, my goal is to raise financing for THE "V" CHANNEL so I can commission talented students and professional filmmakers to make ORIGINAL "V" VIDEOS.

We applied for our 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status over a year ago and should soon be receiving a confirmation letter from the IRS. Becoming a bona fide nonprofit organization will allow us to approach charitable foundations, corporate sponsors and people like you for financial support. A production budget will certainly enhance, enrich and sustain The "V" Channel and take the project to an entirely new level of service! In the meantime, I've been making "homemade" videos using my friends and family as the cast and crew. Despite the amateur quality of some of the videos, I think they demonstrate the incredible potential of how using virtues as a creative platform can entertain and inspire young people (and adults!) to be the best they can be.

I've had fun working with kids and their parents who have never made a movie before. When they're involved in the process they get a deeper understanding of virtues. Our featured video, REVERENCE, is a good example. One day I called the wife of a basketball coach I know and asked, "Would you and your daughters like to make a video for The "V" Channel?" She said, "Sure!" so I wrote the script, grabbed my camera and we shot it.

Two sisters set aside their digital devices and experience reverence for nature.

I'm grateful to the girls of REVERENCE for being part of a special experience. They giggled with embarrassment at times, and flubbed their lines during some takes, but overall they were awesome. I always smile when their mother says, "Sitting in the dark like two mushrooms" and "Instead of tweets, listen to some real birds!" Most of all I fondly recall strolling through the park with the two sisters, looking at the sky, the trees, and quietly experiencing reverence for nature. (We even listened to some real birds!) And with the beat of Kanye West's AMAZING driving the music video style of editing, REVERENCE turned out to be one of my favorites.

Wishing you and the kids in your life "Victory via Virtues!"
