Lutheran Elementary School Association Celebrating 10 Years as a Partner in Quality Lutheran Education

February 2015
Greetings!

Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'
Matthew 22:37-39

Strategic Plan Update

Sue NahmensenOur Mission:  LESA provides financial resources for children in need to obtain Lutheran Christian education. And, we advocate and support efforts to improve the sustainability and quality of Lutheran Christian schools in the metro St. Louis area.

To more effectively serve students in our member schools, the Board and staff have spent significant time reviewing LESA's mission has been restated, and vision under the direction of a professional strategist. We are pleased to share that through this planning process, a clear vision has been developed, LESA's mission and four strategic priorities have been identified:  mission sustainability, affordability of Lutheran education, educational quality, and collaboration with other agencies to leverage resources and maximize  the impact of LESA's services and programs.

As we continue to plan for the future, we ask you to pray for the students, families and educators in Lutheran schools and God's continued blessings on LESA and other educational ministries which support Lutheran education.

Welcome St. Paul's Lutheran School,Troy, IL

Please join us in welcoming St. Paul's Lutheran School in Troy, Illinois as LESA's newest member school. They may be new to LESA, but St. Paul's dates back to the Civil War days. St. Paul's serves 107 students in prekindergarten through eighth grade.  LESA now serves eight Lutheran schools in Southern Illinois and 23 on the Missouri side of the St. Louis metro region. We look forward to a working partnership with St. Paul's principal Dr. Bruce McLaughlin (Right) and his team.

Lutheran Schools Open Houses

For those parents seeking a Christ-centered education focusing on academic excellence and spiritual development, visit one of the Lutheran Schools in your neighborhood. Many of our member schools are hosting open houses in the next few weeks.

Lutheran schools provide excellent academic preparation for the children we serve.  We are grateful to share Jesus' amazing love with children and their families.

Lutheran schools have scheduled Open Houses, plus students may shadow at any time.  Contact the school to arrange a visit.  For a complete listing of LESA member schools, visit www.LESAstl.org
