Lutheran Elementary School Association Celebrating 10 Years as a Partner in Quality Lutheran Education

December  2014
Greetings!

"This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 4:9-11

Christmas Blessings

Sue NahmensenAs the end of 2014 draws near, I reflect on recent events, and I'm profoundly impacted by the value Lutheran education has upon our children and our community.  Helping to touch the lives of children who might not otherwise know our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, is a privilege. Thank you for helping support the ministry of Lutheran education throughout the year.

We ask for your prayers to continue to bless all of our Lutheran educational ministries and for LESA as a partner in supporting quality Lutheran education in our community.  Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year.   Praise be the Lord!!

Last Chance to Help in 2014

In addition to advancing the Great Commission, here are two more reasons to support Lutheran education before

December 31, 2014.

Reason #1

Every gift to LESA will be matched 4:1 through two matching grants, and possibly 8:1 if your employer has a matching gift program.

Reason # 2

Your gift is 100% tax deductible as the law allows, and there are only a few days left to give in 2014.

Give a Card That Gives Back

Its not too late, to purchase your Christmas cards, either for this year or next, give a LESA student-designed Christmas card and help give back to Lutheran education.  Again this year, they were featured in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, November 2, 2014.   Cards are $10 per pack of 10. To view or purchase all four student-designed cards click here.

Lutheran Schools Open House

For those parents seeking a Christ-centered school education focusing on academic excellence and spiritual development, visit one of the Lutheran School Open House receptions in your neighborhood, Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 1-3 p.m.  Click here for a detailed listing of schools promoting winter open houses.

Lutheran school open houses are part of National Lutheran Schools Week beginning January 25, 2015. The theme this year is Witness, Mercy, Life Together and illustrates how the church lives and works together to proclaim the Gospel to provide for our brothers and sisters in Christ in our congregations, communities and throughout the world.  In all we do, Christ is at the center, leading us, sustaining us, and keeping us focused.

Lutheran schools provide excellent academic preparation for the children we serve.  We are grateful to share Jesus' amazing love with children and their families.   National Lutheran Schools Week gives us an opportunity to proclaim these great blessings with the communities we serve.

The Lutheran Elementary School Association is a distinctively Lutheran, Christ-centered resource for those who teach and those who learn in Lutheran elementary schools in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

For more information, please visit our website at www.LESAstl.org or call 314-268-1525.

Merry Christsmas from LESA's board and staff.
