Fortnight for Freedom

From June 21-July 4, for the second year in a row, our bishops have asked Catholics in the United States to pray for the preservation of religious liberty, both here and throughout the world.

This is a time of prayer and action to address many current challenges to religious liberty, including the August 1 deadline for religious organizations to comply with the HHS mandate, Supreme Court rulings that could attempt to redefine marriage in June, and religious liberty concerns in areas such as immigration and humanitarian services.

Vatican Approves Inclusion of St. Joseph's Name in Main Eucharistic Prayers

The Vatican's Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments has issued new texts that include the name of St. Joseph for Eucharistic Prayers II, III, and IV at Mass.

St. Joseph's name has already been added to Eucharistic Prayer I, the Roman Canon, by Blessed John XXIII.

The revised prayers are approved to be used immediately.
