Benefits of Membership
Oft times, we lose sight of why we do things or what we are about.  Being a member of WHAM is not only about supporting Michigan, but it is also about supporting the sound horse movement for the Tennessee Walking Horses.

Today, more than ever, the Tennessee Walking Horse is one of the greatest breeds of horses for both rail and trail.  Their inherant smooth gait is second to none.  Their easy, calm disposition makes them perfect horses for both young and old, experienced and novice riders.  Part of belonging to WHAM supports the efforts to completely eliminate the practice of soring to obtain the exaggerated gaits.

Not only is it about the soring, it is about belonging and supporting something greater than ourselves.    These horses are part of the fabric of our lives and together, we all make a difference.

To join WHAM, go to www.whamonline.com and download your 2013 membership today.  Welcome to the smoothest ride on earth.
Introducing - Amy Langner:  WHAM Executive Vice President

Greetings, fellow WHAM members! I hope your wiAmynter is going well. As your new vice president, I want to thank you for the opportunity to serve the club and also introduce myself to anyone who may not have met me. I have owned Tennessee Walking Horses for twenty-nine years.

I first joined WHAM about ten years ago. I had shown my walkers in 4-H for many years and helped to educate people on the fact that yes, walking horses can canter and be shown in western, reining, pole bending, and barrels. We always

showed and trail rode our horses when I was growing up.

Over the last few years, I have started showing again, and can be found with my spoiled mare Moon & my other mare Duchess. I am happy to say that in 2012 my showing became a family affair with my mom Sharon tagging along and occasionally showing Moon.

One of my favorite show memories of this past year was watching my mom show Moon at the Little Celebration. My mom had not ridden in two years and had not shown for over fifeen years. It's wonderful to be able to share my experiences in WHAM with my family and WHAM friends.

I plan to continue to support WHAM and its members as vice president, and I look forward to meeting everyone on trails and at the shows this year.

Sincerely Yours,

Amy Langner
