NEW IBERIA, La. -- The Iberia Performing Arts League will present its Summer Youth Musical "Les Miserables (School Edition)" on July 14 - 24, 2016.
Winner of over 100 international awards and seen by over 65 million people worldwide, "Les Miserables" is an epic and uplifting story about the survival of the human spirit. While adapted for students, the student edition carefully maintains the integrity of one of the greatest musicals ever written.
According to director Vincent P. Barras, "This is a magnificent show, and we have been blessed to have a talented group of teenagers audition and join the cast. It will give our young actors and singers a chance to stretch beyond their comfort zone and even further develop their talents. The performances themselves are not just for kids, adults will enjoy this just as much as one of our major regular musicals."
This performance is supported, in part, by a grant from the Louisiana State Arts Council, through the Louisiana Division of the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts and administered through the Acadiana Center for the Arts.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday Performances are at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday Matinees are at 3 p.m. Due to expected demand, an additional matinee is schedule for Saturday, July 23 at 2 p.m.
The $15 tickets are available on Eventbrite, as well as at Delaune's Pharmacy, Paul's Flower Shop, the Daily Iberian office or at the door. Further information is available by calling (337) 364- 6114 and leaving a message with your phone number.
