Motel 6 opens in New Iberia

NEW IBERIA, La. --- Ishan Patel just opened a Motel 6 in New Iberia, right behind the Super 8 he also owns on Highway 14, and hired Timothy Morgan as general manager.

The two story, non-smoking, economy hotel features newly renovated rooms ranging from single king with jacuzzi to double queen with kitchenettes. The rooms offer free wi-fi, an expanded TV line-up including HBO, free morning coffee and local calls. 

Daily, weekly and monthly rates are available and children under 17, as well as pets, stay free. Extended stay rooms include burner electric cook-top kitchenettes. The motel also offers a coin laundry and vending and ice machines. 

Patel's family renovated the Super 8 and El Chile Verde Mexican Grill last spring. The Patel's own several hotels, including America's Best Value Inn in Lake Charles, La., Motel 6 in Leesville, La., and Holiday Inn Express in San Antonio, Texas.
