set for May 14
The Berri Patch Kids Jr. Garden Club/Girl Scout Troop 186 participated in the Project Front Yard Highway 14 Gateway Cleanup organized by the Iberia Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau last year. IPCVB is planning another cleanup on May 14.
NEW IBERIA, La. --- The Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with Iberia Parish Government, the City of New Iberia and multiple local businesses and organizations have announced May 14, 2016 as the date for the re-launch of Project Front Yard-Iberia Parish 2016.

May 14 will play host to multiple events being held around the Parish in an effort to clean and beautify the area. To kick-off the process the City of New Iberia will be conducting a city-wide debris pick up May 9-14. All city residents are encouraged to participate. For a full list of what will and will not be accepted, please see the Project Front Yard-Iberia Parish Facebook page.

On May 14, Iberia Parish Government will have a designated area adjacent to the Court House in New Iberia to collect waste. You must be an Iberia Parish resident to participate - IDs will be checked. For a full list of what will and will not be accepted, please visit the Project Front Yard-Iberia Parish Facebook Page.

A host of other businesses and organizations, including the Iberia Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau, Acadiana Regional Airport Authority, Envision Da Berry, Boys & Girls Club, Iberia Industrial Development Foundation, Iberia Bank, West End Council of Neighborhood Associations, The Daily Iberian, and Progressive Waste have all pledged to create their own activities geared towards cleaning up the Parish and fostering community participation and development.

Project Front Yard is an initiative which brings together individuals, business, government and media partners to address community beautification through education. Started by Lafayette Parish President Joey Durel in 2014, the initiative extended partnerships with other parishes in Acadiana including Iberia, Acadia, and St. Martin parishes.
