Iberia Parish Foundation Awards $10,000 to Local Organizations
Iberia Parish Foundation Community Awards
New Iberia, LA --- The Iberia Parish Foundation (IPF), an affiliate of Community Foundation of Acadiana, recently awarded $10,000 to local nonprofit organizations through a competitive grants cycle.

The following organizations received an award:

* Envision da Berry for the 2015 Window Wonderland fine art display in storefront windows.

* Housing Authority of the City of New Iberia for the George Washington Carver Garden, a gardening mentorship program for the A.B. Simon Community.

* Iberia Preservation Alliance for the Dave Robicheaux's Hometown Literary Festival, a new, three-day festival that will include tours of the area as described in New York bestselling author James Lee Burke's novels.

* Shadows-on-the-Teche (National Trust for Historic Preservation) for the second-annual Plein Air Competition that invites local, regional and national artists to participate in plein air (in the open air) competition. Artists will set up easels in and around Iberia Parish to paint local scenes which will be judged.

The funds for the grant cycle were raised by the Iberia Parish Foundation's board of directors through several fundraisers. Iberia Parish Foundation Immediate Past Chair Beau Beaullieu said, "Iberia Parish is a wonderful community that has been very supportive of the Foundation and its mission. We are grateful for the community's continued support and we are honored to make these grants to fund programs which enhance our parish."

The cycle was open to any church, school or 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provided programs which broadly impact Iberia Parish in areas such as education, the arts, social services, community development, youth development and more.

The Iberia Parish Foundation is an affiliate of Community Foundation of Acadiana and has a separate board of directors, specifically for the benefit of Iberia Parish. The purpose of the Iberia Parish Foundation is to fund programs which broadly impact Iberia Parish and to focus on enhancing the quality of life in Iberia Parish. Please visit CFAcadiana.org/Iberia for a list of the local board of directors or for more information.
