Jan. 1 - 15, 2016 Les Cenelles Exhibit - The Iberia Parish Library will host Les Cenelles, an original copy of the first anthology of African American poetry in the country, featuring 17 French-speaking poets and published in 1845. Iberia Parish Library's main branch, 445 E. Jan. 1 - 15, 2016 - Clementine Hunter Exhibit - "The Art and Social Commentary of Clementine Hunter," a traveling exhibit from the Louisiana State Museum, focuses on the importance of Hunter's work as a chronicler of rural life. Jan. 27, 2016 - NASA History Talk - Dr. Paul Darby of the University of Louisiana Lafayette will lead the presentation discussing little known facts about NASA missions from the moon walks to the Space Shuttle and Space Station. Dr. Darby is known as an expert in aerospace technology and was presented the highest award NASA gives to civilians. The Iberia Parish Convention & Visitors Bureau is the official parish marketing agency promoting New Iberia, Avery Island, Jefferson Island, Jeanerette, Loreauville and Delcambre as a destination. Marketing programs target leisure travelers, business travelers, media, entertainment industry, and the travel trade including group tour planners, meeting planners, sports planners and special event planners. The bureau operates a parish welcome center located at 2513 Hwy. 14 in New Iberia.
