Ford Mustang's Original Creator to Give Talk at Jeanerette Museum
|
JEANERETTE, La.--- The Jeanerette Museum will present, "The Enigma of an American Icon: The Ford Mustang," on Wed., Nov. 4, 2015 at 6 p.m.
Jerome "Jerry" Malinowski, Ph.D., one of the designers of the original Ford Mustang, will lead the presentation on the automobile that is known worldwide.
Malinowski teaches industrial design at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He will recount his experiences on the team that designed the original Mustang and its emblem along with touching on some of the other cars of that time including the Chevy Corvair-Camaro and the Dodge Challenger.
Malinowski was invited to help create an exhibit celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang at the Saratoga Automobile Museum. The exhibit featured his original drawings and visuals of the Mustang.
Malinowski began designing at the Ford Motor Company Design Styling Center in Dearborn, Michigan in 1961 where he worked on the design for the 1964 Thunderbird and Mustang 1.
In later years, Malinowski expanded his design work, designing Olympic bobsleds for the 1988 and 1992 USA Olympic Bobsled Team. His 1992 Olympic bobsled was tested by Boeing Corporation and found to be the most aerodynamic sled of its time.
Join the Jeanerette Museum in welcoming Professor Malinowski as he takes you through his personal journey. This free program is suitable for an adult audience. Registration is required to reserve your seat.
