DETAILS:
On Saturday, July 11, 2015, the Diabetic Kitchen will host the Louisiana/California 2015 Reunion 5K Walk/Run for a Cure of Diabetes in New Iberia. The event will begin in West End Park and travel through several streets of the West End of New Iberia.
The Diabetic Kitchen is a diabetes support/management group whose purpose is to provide support, assist with management and educate anyone seeking news or information regarding diabetes or Alzheimer.
You may ask, "Why Alzheimer?" The answer to this question is because more and more increasingly Alzheimer is being referenced as "type-3 diabetes." For this reason this group has taken a proactive stance and adopted Alzheimer as a part of its awareness program.
Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a prayer and warm-up exercise at 8:40 a.m. The event will begin at 9:30 a.m.
The cost to participate is $10 for adults 18 and over, $5 for ages 12-17 and free for ages 11 and under. Teams of five will be $40.
