Godspell, (an archaic spelling of "gospel"), is loosely based on the "Gospel According to St. Matthew" and remains one of the most beloved musicals of all time. A group of followers assist Jesus in telling different parables by using a wide variety of storytelling techniques with a touch of comic relief.

The production is directed by Donna Berard, and stars Andrew Palmintier as Jesus and Martin Smith as St John/Judas. Other principals are Ryan Berard as Herb, Ian Bonin as Jeffrey, Abby Boudreaux as Joanne, Bythe Bull as Sonia, Adele Comeaux as Peggy, Hollie Guidry as Gilmer, RossAndre LeGrier as Lamar and Christina Williams as Robin.  Also featured in the show are Allyson Gary, Kaylon Khamphilavong, Lanie Marcantel, LaDoris Politte, Gracie Watts and Michelle White.

"This show is great for those of all ages," said Director Donna Berard. "It's fun. It's filled with messages of faith, hope, love, compassion and tolerance. Lastly, but definitely not least, it's packed with awesome music!"

This performance is supported, in part, by a grant from the Louisiana State Arts Council, through the Louisiana Division of the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts administered by the  Acadiana Center for the Arts. Production sponsors are First National Bank of Jeanerette and Berard Transportation. Musical sponsors are ON TAP, Quail Tools and Gonsoulin Engineering.
