The Shadows-on-the-Teche Fall Arts and Crafts Fair will take place in the Shadows' gardens on Saturday Oct. 4 from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Over 100 vendors from around the state will exhibit and sell their original work.
Admission to the fair --- $5 per person (12 and older) and $3 for children (ages 6-11)---- includes a tour of the Shadows. Raffle tickets will be sold to win items donated by the vendors.
In addition to the arts & crafts, food and dessert vendors will sell tasty treats to enjoy while you shop! Come enjoy the day with your family and friends while supporting local artists, craftsmen and the beautiful Shadows-on-the-Teche.
One new vendor will be Mr. Wade Cantrell from Berwick, La., who as a wood turner produces several types of items from the wood of Louisiana's native trees. Many favorite vendors will be returning to sell their handmade items. Kettle corn, bread by the Moores, and wind chimes from the Webres will be available.
Shadows' artists in residence will also be on site. Fine artist Lynda Frese will demonstrate her creative process and musician David Greely will perform. A good way to start your holiday shopping with a day in the Shadows' gardens at the Arts and Crafts Fair! All funds raised will be used for the continued preservation and maintenance of Shadows-on-the-Teche, a National Trust Historic Site.
