NEW IBERIA, La.--- The Iberia Preservation Alliance will offer another segment in its annual political presentations entitled "An Entertaining Evening of Louisiana Politics," featuring guests Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne , State Sen. Fred Mills and State Rep. Taylor Barras.

The event, a fundraiser for New Iberia Beneath the Balconies, will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at the Sugar Cane Festival Building in New Iberia. A 5:30 p.m. wine and hors d'oeuvres reception welcoming the three noted politicians will start off the event followed by the actual performance at 7 p.m.

The program will open with Dardenne's humorous presentation of some of Louisiana's most interesting politicians. Dardenne will then join Mills and Barras for an amusing and informative round table discussion.

"If you enjoy delicious food and wine in an elegant, but fun setting as well as great political humor, then 'An Entertaining Evening of Louisiana Politics' is a perfect event for you," said Cathy Indest, president of Iberia Cultural Resources Association, one of the Alliance's organizations.

Proceeds from the event will help defray the cost of New Iberia Beneath the Balconies, a free festival featuring theatrical and musical performances on Main Street New Iberia's balconies to be held Nov. 1, 2014.

The Iberia Preservation Alliance, a coalition of the Bayou Teche Museum, Iberia Cultural Resources Association, and the Shadows-on-the-Teche, was formed in 2010 and continues to produce informative, amusing, and highly entertaining events for residents and visitors alike.

Tickets for the reception and performance are $50 per person and can be purchased at Blue Butterfly Boutique, Paul's Flower Shop and Shadows-on-the-Teche in New Iberia; and Mills Cashway Pharmacy in Breaux Bridge. For information on tickets, call 337-658-9746. For further information contact Cathy Indest at 337-364-1603.
