BACKGROUND:
The Bayou Teche Museum is now accepting enrollment for its inaugural Museum Camp this summer. The week-long camp will be centered around the museum's existing exhibits, following a timeline of the Bayou Teche area's history. The timeline will explore the Teche region's Native Americans, Spanish founders, the sugar and salt industries, music and art. There will even be a scavenger hunt along downtown Main Street and a visit to City Hall. Campers will participate in guest speakers, games, and art and crafts activities.
The camp is scheduled for July 14 through 18, 8:45 to noon and will take place at the Museum and at the Sliman Theater next door. Children ages 7 - 12 are eligible. $125 per camper includes snacks and T-shirts.
