The Louisiana Gourd Show is April 3 - 5!
 
Mesdames Kate Bangle and Margaret Brinkhaus invite you to the Louisiana Gourd Society's "Gourding on the Bayou" gourd show to be held April 3-5 at the Willow Woods Multi Purpose Building in New Iberia. They are pictured with the traveling gourd, which will be on display at our welcome center until the event. The show will feature artist booths, demonstrations and classes, as well as a "Kids' Korner" where children will have the opportunity to decorate their own gourd to take home. The Dragons will race again on April 5. Come on out to the second annual Acadiana Dragon Boat Festival at Bouligny Plaza in New Iberia. Starting at 9 a.m., revelers can watch teams race on Bayou Teche to see who will become the Dragon Boat Champion. There will be family-friendly activities as well as live entertainment. The first Delcambre Seafood and Farmers Market of the spring season will be the place to shop for the freshest catch, produce and homemade goods on April 5 from 8 a.m - 1 p.m. The market will also host a fundraiser for Maurice "Moe" Solet Jr., featuring Easter bunny pictures, gumbo, a silent auction, hair cut-a-thon and kids' corner.
