NEW IBERIA, La. --- Patrick Segura and the Iberia Parish School Board's Sales Tax Department staff will host the Louisiana Association of Tax Administrators' Annual Spring Conference on March 12-14, 2014 at the Ramada Conference Center, located at 2915 Hwy. 14 in New Iberia.
"Our conferences are hosted by different tax departments throughout the state and we all kind of take our turns hosting," said Segura who hosted a conference in New Iberia in 2000. "To bring an Iberian/South Louisiana flavor to the conference, the menu for the meals served Wednesday night and Thursday night will feature seafood jambalaya, fried catfish, seafood gumbo, crawfish pies, boiled crawfish and boiled shrimp."
The conference will open with a golf scramble on Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. at Squirrel Run Golf Club on Darby Lane. The $65 golf fee includes green fees, cart, range balls and lunch.
Other activities will include informational sessions on policies and procedures, recent court findings, legislative updates and the opportunity to network with other professionals in the field of local governmental taxation.
"The IPCVB is very grateful to Patrick for working to get the LATA Conference in New Iberia," said Fran Thibodeaux, executive director of the Iberia Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau. "We hope the attendees have a productive and pleasurable experience in Iberia Parish."
Registration is now open to all governmental and business professionals interested in promoting the efficient and effective exchange of information relative to the administration of state and local sales tax, property tax and occupational licenses.
Conference registration fees are $155 for members and $175 for non-members. For more information or to register for the conference, contact Patrick Segura at 337-365-2341, [email protected], Laota.com
