- The Berry Queens for their great help at the Bayou Teche Museum's Jan. 16 gala.

- La Asociación Española de Nueva Iberia, Inc. (LAENI, Inc.) will hold its annual meeting on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014 at 6 p.m. in the Sliman Theater. All members (and persons interested in becoming new members) are invited to attend. Annual membership dues are $25. Plans for the 3rd Annual El Festival Español (to be held Nov.14-16, 2014) will be discussed. If you are interested in sharing your talents to help plan the festival and other activities for the year, please join them. Please remember that if you bought a ticket to the Gala in November, you have already paid your dues. If you did not receive your membership card, it will be given at the meeting. - Delcambre Direct Seafood and SHUCKS! The Louisiana Seafood House have teamed up to bring Vermilion Bay Sweet Black Drum to Shucks in Abbeville. You can get it grilled, filet or on the "half shell." Due to last week's weather, the Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce is extending its deadline to Friday, Feb. 7, to apply for the Leadership Iberia program. Leadership Iberia's mission is to build a strong sense of community trusteeship by creating and empowering a broad network of well-informed leaders, whose strengthened commitment to community involvement will affect positive change in the Greater Iberia Parish area. E-mail info@iberiachamber.org for an application. Only 14 individuals will be chosen.

- Many of our visitors want to do swamp tours and Lake Martin offers excellent swamp tour opportunities. If you are interested in helping to protect the nationally significant waterbird rookery, please contact them to join their amazing team of volunteers. Details here.

- SOCIAL MEDIA TIP #21: Make sure everyone involved in social media at your company or organization is on the same page regarding your social media policies, ie. what is appropriate to post on the company's Facebook. Also train your employees to make sure their personal accounts do not tarnish your company's image. You can also create separate personal and professional accounts and tweak your privacy settings, ie. show certain posts to friends only.

Camp Bon Coeur in Lafayette, a summer camp for children with heart defects, is looking for donations for the silent auction featured at their annual Hearty Party. They are asking for a donation valued at $50 or more. Your donation will be listed in their program and your business will be visible on their sponsor signs. See the request letter. The Louisiana Travel Promotion Assoc. will be representing its members including the IPCVB at the Louisiana Sportsman Show March 13-16, 2014. IPCVB had a full page advertisement in the 2013 brochure, which we shared previously. We will advertise in the 2014 brochure. LTPA members can also advertise independently. For information on the program consult the LTPA marketing plan (page 61).
