Madame Janet Faulk-Gonzales, CEO/president of the Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce, was this year's Grand Marshal of the Downtown Business Association's Christmas Parade. She rode in the parade with her husband, Monsieur Rudy Gonzales (left), and Monsieur Kevin Romero. More pictures here.

Madame Linda Horton, our Iberian Ambassador Queen on da geaux, greeted the public at the Shadows on the Teche Visitor Center during Magic on Main on Dec. 8. 


  • You may want to stock up on your supply of the official visitor guide for Iberia Parish, the Discover Iberia Community Resource Guide. They are packaged 88 per box and are available to you at no cost. The guide includes a pull out map and information on tourism assets, community services and businesses. Please contact Acadiana Lifestyle at 337-365-2222 and arrange for delivery of the guides to your location. If you don't have a stand and would like one please also make that request.   


Groundbreaking of Iberia Community Garden Co-op
  • Share your ideas for increased accessibility along Bayou Teche at the Bayou Teche Paddle Trail Meeting, Jan. 9, 2014
    at 6 p.m. at the New Iberia City Council Chamber. Program details here
  • Shadows-on-the-Teche is planning roof work in January and adopted the following schedule: open to the general public Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Open for tour groups with advance reservation Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.      
  • Two New Iberia women, former Gov. Kathleen Blanco and environmentalist Wilma Subra, are featured in a unique mobile museum honoring Louisiana women.
  • The history department at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette developed a smartphone app that identifies historic places throughout Acadiana. They are seeking suggestions for future content. At this point, Iberia only has one site, Shadows-on-the-Teche, on their website. To nominate a siteplease e-mail Dr. Robert Carriker or call him at 337-482-6900.

  • Group Travel Annual Directory, the number one circulated print product and visited website in the group travel market. IPCVB bought a half page ad, a full page of editorial and a full webpage showcase.
  • Leisure Group TravelAmerica's leading group travel publication and website. IPCVB bought a half page ad and a feature article.
Both programs include an online account for leads, which IPCVB has been distributing to our lead recipients. We respond to each lead with the electronic Iberia Parish Group Planner. Are you connecting with these tour operators?
  • Sounds of the Season was featured in Gulf Coast Wave's Dec. 1-8 newsletter. Get exposure too! Submit your event here.
