  • Gracias Madame Jane Braud for sending the Yuletide on the Bayou flyer.
ATTENTION DOWNTOWN BUSINESSES: if you would like the Girl Scouts to sing a special song in front of your store during the event on Dec. 14 between 10 a.m. - noon, please contact Jane Braud to schedule a visit. Following the event if you'd like to display one or more of the gingerbread houses in your storefront window or inside your shop, please let her know as the girls can deliver them following the event. Please use this event to promote your products!

  • Merci Mesdames Pat Kahle and Cathy Shramm for leading the Shadows-on-the-Teche Civil War Tour on Nov. 9. The free day-long tour filled a 55 passenger tour bus very quickly with a waiting list. Stops were made at battle sites in St. Mary and Iberia Parish. Speakers included Dr. Don Frazier, Mr. Kelby Ouchley and Dr. Shane Bernard. Lunch was provided by the IPCVB. The tour was made possible by a grant to the Shadows-on-the-Teche from the National Trust for Historic Preservation's Interpretation and Education Fund.


  • Thank you Madame Leslie Davis with Delcambre Direct Seafood for sending the press release on the debut of Vermilion Bay Sweet Shrimp at Rouse's.


  • Merci Madame Lanae Lopez for sending this flyer for the Christmas Comedy Jam to be held Dec. 21. LaQuinta Inn and Suites will be the event's host hotel.

  • The Iberia Community Garden Co-op is coming soon. The garden is a project of the BestLife Iberia initiative of the Iberia Industrial Development Foundation. For instance, Jungle Gardens has the "Wildlife Wednesday" theme and visitors post pictures of wildlife they took at the gardens. At IPCVB, we use the following weekly schedule. We encourage you to use the same themes and hashtags and to send us your content! 


  • Please send us information on your January events by Nov. 22. We are compiling the January calendar to be sent to the media on Dec. 2. You can check your event listing on our web calendar.
  • Participate in Shop Small on Nov. 30, 2013. The Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce is encouraging local businesses to join this nationwide initiative this holiday season. From now on through Nov. 27, the chamber will be promoting the event by mentionning specific information on participating shops, restaurants or salons. There is no cost to your business for the promotion and you don't need to be a member of the chamber. Please e-mail Janet Faulk-Gonzales, call 337-364-1836 or visit for more information.   • ATTENTION EVENT PLANNERS: Publish your event in Gulf Coast Wave, a fact-checked, bi-weekly current events e-newsletter (free) covering the Central Gulf Coast.
