Here's the list of BP grant recipients in the last award round. IPCVB is a member of the Louisiana Tourism Coastal Coalition, which received $500,000. Our BP community relations representative, Gerald Ford, will give an update on BP activities at IPCVB's monthly meeting on Sept. 24 at 10:30 a.m.

- Monsieur Raymond Pellerin with Tour du Teche asks Iberia merchants and residents to make handmade signs to welcome Tour du Teche to our community from Oct. 4-6. Businesses with electronic signs could display a welcome message. Those who live on the bayou could also place signs on the banks and bridges. You can contact Raymond Pellerin at [email protected]

SOCIAL MEDIA TIP #5: Incentives. Give incentives for people to follow you and interact with your social media pages. Ideas include a photo contest with a prize (check out Jungle Gardens' Wildlife Wednesdays); like us and register for a chance to win a prize (IberiaTravel); like us and get a discount; or even better, according to social media experts, creating a VIP club on your page with incentives can turn them into repeat customers. VIP clubs can be created with facebook apps (many are free).
