Follow the users interested in your topic and start a conversation by twitting to them or sending direct messages. You can then invite them to follow you on other channels.

Kudos to the Iberia Performing Arts League for promoting their latest play "The Cemetery Club" on Eventful.com and FacebookEvents. Both websites are popular, FREE marketing tools for event planners, according to social media expert Doug Motel, who led the ElearningU webinar we attended last week. Motel also recommended using Brownbagticket.com and uploading events to community and newspapers' online calendars. IPCVB uploads Iberia Parish events to online event calendars for Louisianatravel.com, Lafayettetravel.com and Iberiatravel.com

The Louisiana Historical Marker program commemorates facts, people, events and places prominently identified with the history of the nation, state, or region. Historical markers are privately sponsored and funded. Any individual or group may nominate a location or occasion of historical interest for historical marker commemoration. Deadline: Nov. 6.
