Message from the President
Happy October Tri Delta Sisters!
Last month our Alumnae Board was able to meet to discuss ideas and set goals for this upcoming year. What a great meeting filled with energy and excitement that has laid the foundation for our chapter to go from Good to Great! Keep your eyes peeled for a couple new initiatives which will allow our sisters to reconnect, network, give back and most importantly have fun!
Our traditional annual functions, such as Founder's Day on Wednesday, November 13th, hosted by the Tri-City Alumnae Chapter, at Bascom's Chop House. Also, consider joining our team for the Heart Walk, honoring Tiffinay Messingham on Saturday, November 15th or The St. Jude Give Thanks Walk on Saturday, November 22nd. The more Deltas the merrier and all for causes we hold close to our hearts.
With the holidays quickly approaching, keep in mind our 23rd Annual Poinsettia Drive will be held on December 5th and 6th with all proceeds benefiting The Children's Cancer Center and St. Jude's Research Hospital. In addition, our annual Christmas Coffee will be held December 18th at the home of Irene Rodriguez.
A special congratulations to Beta Alpha for an amazing Recruitment where they "welcomed home" 58 new members! In addition, the chapter had a special house renovation reveal party along with celebrating their 48th birthday. The house is absolutely gorgeous and the collegiate members were so excited to give tours to the Alumnae that attended.
This year Beta Alpha has 24 Seniors that will be graduating and are looking for support and guidance from our esteemed alumnae. From the words of the beloved and belated Maya Angelou "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." So if you are interested in being a brain to pick, an ear to listen, or a coach to guide, contact Michelle Shimberg (mpshimberg@gmail.com) to mentor a senior through their final year.

Calling All Delta Mamas of Little Ones!
If you are interested in getting together with other Tri Delta moms for occasional playdates for our little ones, we'd love to hear from you! This will be laid back and fun, just another way to connect with your sisters while involving your kiddos, too. We're looking to start out with children ages birth to 5 years old. It's Time to Write References!
Many of our chapters which participate in Fall Recruitment have already completed successful events, but there are many chapters who participate in deferred Recruitment, either later in the fall, or in January. Please remember these chapters still need assistance with references!
There are two ways to submit references. You can either fill out the reference form and send it straight to the appropriate collegiate reference chairman (addresses and the current recruitment form can be found on the DDD website-www.tridelta.org), OR you can send the reference form to the Alumna Reference Chairman, Natalie Thomas at 17031 Winners Circle, Odessa, FL 33556 or thomasnataliep@hotmail.com, who will then sign the reference form and forward it on to the appropriate collegiate reference chairman. While either method of submission is appropriate, if you choose to send your reference straight to the collegiate reference chairman, it is IMPERATIVE that you let Natalie know the name of the young woman for whom you have written a reference and the school to which the reference was sent. It is very important for us to be able to track which young women have received references and also be able to obtain references for those outstanding local candidates who may somehow have slipped through the cracks and not received a reference from our chapter. If anyone has any questions or concerns about this process please feel free to contact Natalie Thomas.
