Volunteer Pilot Orientation (3rd Mondays) December 15, 7pm

Monday December 15, 2014 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM EST

This is a 60-90 minute training session for volunteer pilots, both new and experienced. Hosted by Brian Jarvis. Training takes places in your home, on the phone and on your PC every third Monday evening at 7pm. 1. AUDIO is on the phone, not on the computer 2. A dial-in number and web address will be provided upon registration

The 4-day Sebring Expo, concentrated on sport aviation, is the first major aviation event of the year, and is known in the aviation industry as the place for new product introduction. The Sebring Expo always produces a few exciting surprises each year.

Pilot Marc Miller, Maria and co-pilot Gene.  Maria travels to Miami to receive chemotherapy treatment for melanoma of the eye.

Thank you Pilot David Trilling for having Kathy along in the "copilot seat." It's always nice to meet our passengers and pilots face-to-face.

Here are Joe and leg 2 Pilot John Epley next to his v-tail at the hand-off point. Joe has traveled to Moffitt Cancer Center for two years for treatment of metastatic melanoma.
Pilot Aaron Nance flying Andy and his Grandma Martha home after more skin grafting.  Looks like he enjoys flying!
Erin and Pilot Marc Miller. She is being treated for squamous cell carcinoma.  Erin's mom wrote, "The flights were effortless on Erin's part and made the whole thing so much easier and one less thing to worry about.  Thanks for all of your help - wow what a gift this is for our family!!

Need some help making breakfast please. Steve P will make omelettes, but could use more help bringing some dishes and providing hot plates, maybe some home-made dishes, etc.

 

Challenge Air January 31st

Looking for: 

  • 20 pilots to fly disabled kids and their family for 20-minute flights. Pilots should register at ChallengeAir.org
  • 4-6 adults to marshal aircraft. You do not need to be a pilot; just familiar with airplanes and the airport tarmac. Contact Steve at steve.purello@mercymail.org
