Silent Auction items needed
Calling all Angel Flight Southeast Friends - we need your help! We are preparing for our 2013 Pilot Awards Gala being held on Sunday, November 10 and could use your help with items for our silent auction. Maybe a piece of art, gift certificate, sports memorabilia, a gift basket, etc. - any and all donations are greatly appreciated. If you would like to donate something or know someone who would, contact us at info@mercymail.org or call (352) 326-0761. Thanks for your support - every dollar raised makes a direct and meaningful impact in the lives of the patients we fly.

Donated this week:

Frequent-passenger (37 times!) and professional artist (painter) Cindy K. thought long and hard about which one of her beautiful artwork to choose to donate.  (Please view her website at cynthiakulp.com ).  She thought about pilots, they would like birds in flight, and Kathy reminded her that pilots often call their aircraft "birds" and Cindy laughed, agreeing. This is the chosen signed, limited addition, gold-leaf framed and matted, ready to hang, UV protected, 16x26 print.

Cindy: "I am forever grateful to you all for helping me in the most

gracious and generous way I can imagine.  You worked to get me up to treatment and I really owe my life to your group of dedicated people"

Recently signed up pilot Gary Fielland who flies a Citation III out of Fort Myers:

Hi,

I would be happy to donate the following item if it helps the cause. Framed autographed Jack Nicolson magazine cover.

Cheers,

gf

Thanks to Marc C. Miller and Greg Frost for flying these items to the gala!

Niagara Water: Over 2,000 bottles! Thank you! Thanks to Johnny "Overspray" Francis of Flying Colors Paint & Interior for Aircraft for loaning us your truck! It was crying the whole way back!

GreatNonprofits 2013 Top-Rated List

Got two this week- wow, what a nice one!

Thank you Joan! #10!!

What a Blessing the Staff, Scheduling and Pilots were to me and my husband. I was in a rather difficult situation as my husband had a massive stroke and can no longer speak and his right arm is severely affected. I was / am in intolerable pain every minute of every day and night. I also have my87 yr. old Mother-in-law that lives with us. I have degenerative double major scoliosis with the host of problems that it brings. I was and am again in need of complete spinal revision. Health issues took us from middle class America to a much different platform. It has been difficult and frightening. The people at Angel Flight treated us so kindly. The communication between all parties is vital and they do it well. I was never left to wonder where we were at in the planning stages. The pilots were all just splendid. There is one that I will never forget. This was our second trip to Dr./Hospital at Duke University. We would be there for apx. 6 weeks, so we were heavily packed. It was so hard for me to feel so ill, guide my husband and navigate from the airport to the Hotel. This Pilot must have seen the fatigue and stress on my face. He gracefully summoned a 1st class cab and paid the bill without my even knowing it. He held the doors, treated me like a lady the way my husband would have before the stroke. Now I open the door for him. I cried tears of relief to be treated so gently. I so needed his kindness. I was so scared, so ill, in so much pain, so worried about my husband during this trip. I will never forget what it felt like to be treated like a lady one more time. It was such a comfort to be taken care of. No one knows it yet, but soon (Lord willing) I will be calling for their services one more time. I could not receive the medical care if it were not for these good people. How do you thank someone for doing so much when you need it the most. They are Angels in Flight and on the ground. Thank You, Joan

We got TEN! Thank You!!

You can still say more nice things here if you like....there are never enough words to describe the generosity of our pilots.
