Sunday morning 3:15 AM: "Sir, are you a pilot? It's a matter of life and death."
Miami resident Antonio has transplanted lungs which were rejecting his body, and he felt he needed to get specialized medical help in a hurry in Gainesville. I couldn't find any available pilots at that hour, so a little after 4 AM my trusty canine copilot and I were in the air on our way from Leesburg to go get Antonio. The miracle workers at Shands Medical Center are taking good care of him, and he is now doing very well.- Steve P

Dear friends,

As many of you are aware, I was privileged to have flown 75 charity missions for Angel Flight, 12 of which were for Mrs C.C., a terminally ill cancer patient, who is alive and well today thanks to an experimental stem cell procedure.

To be sure, this message is not about me or Mrs. C., but to say that I only wish that I could have done more.

Please take a moment to think about the following unthinkable scenario...

Just imagine the thought of you or a loved one having to travel to a distant city for highly specialized medical attention, such as a heart or lung transplant or other critical surgical procedure.  Or, perhaps an experimental procedure is needed for survival, such as stem cell replacement therapy which is never covered by any insurance.

Then, imagine that it may not be safe to travel on a commercial airliner because of an immune deficiency.

Then, try to imagine traveling by automobile 10 or 12 hours to the destination, knowing that your passenger may not be able to survive the stress of such a long trip.

Then, try to imagine having to raise several thousand dollars for private air transportation!

THEN, you remember that Angel Flight will happily arrange the necessary transportation at not cost!!

So, scroll down and take a look!  Then, bookmark in your Internet browser ...   http://www.angelflightse.org/

Think about it.  This is about saving lives...   maybe yours.

MIchael Wagner

All the best,

~Michael Wagner
