Holiday Charity Plunge! |
All donations benefit Angel Flight™ Southeast / Mercy Flight
Are you crazy enough to do the polar bear plunge?

In an effort to raise funds and awareness for Angel Flight™ Southeast, organization supporter and Florida native Mike Massey will be jumping into the icy waters of Lake Michigan on New Year's Day!
All donations will help the foundation's mission of providing free air transportation to medical facilities for individuals and families faced with financial distress or are otherwise unable to travel on public transportation. Visit www.angelflightse.org for more details.
Mike's plunge begins at noon at Milwaukee's Bradford Beach on January 1st, where air temperatures average between 13°F and 28°F and Lake Michigan water temperatures typically dip below 40°F. Mike will record his plunge with a head-cam so that all supporters will be able to witness his challenge come to fruition!
Donating is easy and any amount is helpful to these families. Follow the link below to help sponsor Mike's plunge into Lake Michigan. Be sure to include "Polar Bear Plunge" in the "In Honor of" box.

Pilots needed for Challenge Air 2013 |
Greetings!
January 26, 2013 8:00am- 3:00pm
Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (KFXE)
Challenge Air 2013 is just around the corner, and we need pilots! Last year's event in January was a great day! 76 disabled kids and their families were given "empowering" rides in airplanes at the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport.
Flights are approximately 20 minutes and pilots may choose the weight they are comfortable carrying.
We were short of pilots last year, so some children almost got left behind. PLease help this year!

Nice letter |
Angel Flight and the Villages; Nov. 2012
Thank you so very much for providing me with wonderful Pilots. Words cannot express my appreciation. Kathy has gone above the call of duty to get me these wonderful Pilots. I would also greatly appreciate it if you could send a copy of my letter to the Villages and tell then how very much Zoe and I appreciated the home made quilt. We have it displayed in our home. We pray each of you have a happy/safe holiday season. Thanks again from the bottom of our heart!!!
Very Sincerely;
Jennifer & Zoe Tozzo
Editor's note: We have lots of quilts to give out to kids this winter; stop by the office in Leesbug and pick some up!

Nice testimonial |
December 13, 2012 Posted on Great NonProfits
In 1998, I was living with my 5 year old son in central Florida. That summer, the area was ravaged by wildfires. The smoke from the fires was constant, thick and inescapable. My son, being asthmatic, had been hospitalized for a couple of days with no improvement in his breathing despite all the medical care he was receiving. His pediatrician told me in no uncertain terms, that my only option was to get him out of the area. His chances of survival were growing dimmer each day. Being a single, working mother, I had neither the resources or support system to make that happen. I spent hours on the phone, calling hospitals, airlines and charities to no avail. Then someone told me about Angel Flight. As soon as I contacted them, the wheels started turning. The next morning, my son and I were on our way out of Florida. They transported us all the way to Michigan. When the fires were finally out, Angel Flight didn't forget about us. They made sure that we got safely back to Florida. I can't say enough about this organization. They were amazingly efficient, caring, involved and I could go on and on! But the bottom line is, they literally saved my son's life. And for that I am more grateful than I will ever be able to express.
