The magic of Christmas

As you already know, many people need help, this time of year especially.  Many food banks, shelters and organizations are stretched to the limit.

Some are so busy helping, they don't have time to do the fundraising needed.   The Rotary Club of the Villages-noon has an event this Friday that will help many local organizations raise money that is so desperately needed.

And the best part is, we get to join in and enjoy the scenery.   It's called "Finding the Magic of Christmas".

This is an overview of what will happen.  Please help out by coming to this  event in The Villages on Friday, Dec 7th

Between 2:30-8:00pm, you and your friends can casually walk through a wonderland of beautifully decorated live Christmas trees at the

Waterfront Inn at Lake Sumter Landing.  A donation taken at the door can go to Angel Flight Southeast.

iPad
When a call comes in the middle of the night for a child or adult needing an organ, we need to have the patient and pilot information at our fingertips. Our primary staff member has an iPad to look up this critical information remotely, but our backup, Kathy does not.

If anyone has an older iPad they would be willing to donate, we be would be very grateful!

Challenge Air 2012 Kid
Challenge Air 2013 is just around the corner, and we need pilots! Last year's event in January was a great day! 76 disabled kids and their families were given "empowering" rides in airplanes at the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport.

Flights are approximately 20 minutes and pilots may choose the weight they are comfortable carrying. Challenge Air 2012 with cheerleaders
We were short of pilots last year, so some children almost got left behind. PLease help this year!

Making the headlines
Hilton Head man named SC pilot of year

Volunteer pilot Jack Schuler of Hilton Head Island has been named the winner of the S.C. Pilot of the Year Award.

Schuler was one of a dozen pilots from six states honored Nov. 11 for his involvement in Angel Flight Southeast. AFSE is a nonprofit organization composed of volunteer pilots who fly patients to distant medical facilities to receive treatment. Schuler and the other pilots pay for all flight costs so the patients can fly for free.
